Great Oak Investment Management's (Great Oak) mission is to provide investors with superior returns using a disciplined, long-term approach to small and mid-cap equity investing.
Great Oak believes that value investing produces superior returns with less risk. The increasing lack of coverage of small and mid-cap stocks creates opportunities for diligent bottom-up researchers to buy compelling companies at discount prices. We seek to mitigate risk by employing the following process:
- Implement a disciplined purchase and sell criteria
- Ensure rigorous in-house fundamental research
- Evaluate businesses over a 2-4 year time frame
- Invest in businesses we know and understand
- Insist on a margin of safety for every investment
Founded by Michael S. Faino in 2005, Great Oak is located in Arlington VA, just outside of Washington D.C. We are independently owned and focus on serving institutional and high net worth clients with a minimum of $1 million to invest.
